Brainless On Line was a band formed in the late 90's/Brainless On LIne était un groupe formé à la fin des années 90. It sounded like a punk/pop band with strange, humorous and surrealistics lyrics/Ils sonnaient comme un groupe punk/pop avec des paroles étranges, humoristiques et surréalistes. They changed later their name to 'Raving Lunatics'/Plus tard ils changèrent leur nom en 'Raving Lunatics'. They released some songs on the internet but they used to be no longer available, until some songs got released again in 2009 (see below)/Ils ont sorti des chansons sur internet mais elle n'étaient plus disponibles, jusqu'à ce que certaines chansons sortent à nouveau en 2009 (voir ci-dessous). The band will release a self published live CDR soon/Le groupe va sortir un CDR live autopublié bientôt.

Here's a more or less complete bio/voici une bio plus ou moins complête :
In 1998/1999, l'Autrichien at the drums and Le morse des mers at the bass had rehearsals together. A first guitarist joint them, l'Autrichien met him with an ad/En 1998/1999, l'Autrichien à la batterie et Le morse des mers à la basse répétaient ensemble. Un premier guitariste les a rejoint, l'Autrichien l'avait rencontré avec une annonce.
They were playing covers essentially, and some original songs from the guitarist/Ils jouaient essentiellement des reprises, et quelques chansons originales du guitariste.
At the same time, Le morse and Nain+ wrote a song together. Le morse wrote the lyrics and Nain+ the music/A la même époque, Le morse et Nain+ écrivirent une chanson ensemble. Le mose a écrit les paroles et Nain+ la musique. .
They jamed on the track together a few, Nain+ playing the guitar and Le morse singing. Then they submited the track to l'Autrichien (in the meanwhile the guitarist had left the band) and Nain+ joined the project/Ils jammèrent un peu sur le morceau ensemble, Nain+ jouant de la guitare et Le morse chantant. Puis il proposèrent la chanson à l'Autrichien (entretemps le guitariste avait quitté le groupe) et Nain+ a rejoint le projet.
Another guitarist named Janmi rapidly joined the band/Un autre guitariste nommé Janmi a rapidement rejoint le groupe.
Before he joined the band, Janmi used to play his own songs on his own. From time to time another student he knew, Tao, sang with him/Avant de rejoindre le groupe, Janmi avait pour habitude de jouer ses propres chansons tout seul. De temps en temps un autre étudiant qu'il connaissait, Tao, chantait avec lui.
Tao wrote the lyrics for "Follow the coffin" on a Janmi music, and started to participate to the band's rehearsals so he became their official singer/Tao a écrit les paroles de 'Follow The Coffin' sur une musique de Janmi, et a commencé à participer aux répétitions du groupe. Il devint donc leur chanteur officiel.
The band was regulary writing new songs, so they were almost not playing covers, except a punk/hardcore version of 'La poupée qui fait non' from Michel Polnareff, 'Together on the sand' by NOFX, 'Where is my mind' from the Pixies, 'I Hope You Die' from Bloodhound Gang and a grunge cover from the theme of the TV serie 'Thierry la fronde'/Le groupe écrivait régulièrement de nouvelles chansons, donc ils ne jouaient presque pas de reprise, sauf une version punk/hardcore de 'La poupée qui fait non' de Michel Polnareff, 'Together on the sand' de NOFX, 'Where is my mind' des Pixies, 'I Hope You Die' de Bloodhound Gang, et une reprise grunge du thème de la série TV 'Thierry la fronde'.
June 99 : after a long brainstorming, the band is named 'Brainless On Line'/Juin 99 : après un long brainstorming, le groupe est nommé 'Brainless On Line'
End of august 99 : first gig at a private party. It was a success/Fin août 99 : premier concert lors d'une soirée privée. C'est un succès.
September 99 : second gig at a private party/Septembre 99 : second concert lors d'une soirée privée.
End of september 99 : first public concert in a bar with Smoke The Wave/Fin septembre 99 : premier concert public dans un bar avec Smoke The Wave.
End of 99 : the official website conceived by Janmi is put online at the free web hosting service Chez.com. Le morse start feeding the site with content (bios, pictures, gigs reviews, lyrics...)/Fin 99 : le site web officiel conçu par Jami est en ligne chez l'hébergeur gratuit Chez.com. Le morse commence à remplir le site avec du contenu (bios, images, compte-rendus de concerts, paroles...).
March 2000 : band contest with four other bands including four rap bands. Brainless On Line gives a good show but the result of the contest will never be known. Most people where there to listen to rap music/Mars 2000 :  tremplin avec quatre autres groupes, tous des groupes de rap. Brainless On Line donne un bon show mais le résultat du tremplin ne sera jamais connu. La plupart des gens étaient là pour écouter du rap.
May 6, 2000 : another gig at a MJC with Doppler Site. Spliffy Myspace should have played too but had to cancel due to a loss of voice from the singer/6 mai 2000 : autre concert à une MJC avec Doppler Site. Spliffy Myspace aurait du jouer aussi mais a du annuler suite à une extinction de voix du chanteur.
Summer 2000 : Tao left the band. From now l'Autrichien and Le morse share the role of singer. The band changes his name to The Raving Lunatics/Eté 2000 : Tao quitte le groupe. Désormais l'Autrichien et Le morse partagent le rôle de chanteur. Le groupe change de nom pour les Raving Lunatics.
December 19, 2000 : gig at a MJC with Emmanuel Delattre Site/19 Décembre 2000 : concert à une MJC avec Emmanuel Delattre Site.

March 17, 2001 : gig with (among others) Wanapeek Myspace, Krustys, Analcolique, Pure Retournade.../17 mars 2001 : concert avec (parmis d'autres) Wanapeek Myspace, Krustys, Analcolique, Pure Retournade...
May to june 2001 : the band start to record his whole catalog. All the drums sessions are recorded/Mai à juin 2001 : le groupe commence à enregistrer tout son catalogue. Toutes les pistes de batterie sont enregistrées.
Summer 2001 : l'Autrichien leaves the band to join One Second Riot. The band is in standby before a programmed split after the release of the album, 'No arms no chocolate'. But the band never finished the recordings, and the album was never issued/Eté 2001 : l'Autrichien quite le groupe pour rejoindre One Second Riot. Le groupe est en standby avant un split programmé après la sortie de l'album. Mais le groupe n'a jamais terminé les enregistrements, et l'album n'est jamais sorti.
April 2009 : five working edits of songs are released on the internet, it's the album 'No arms no chocolate'/Avril 2009 : cinq versions de travail de chansons sortent sur internet, c'est l'album 'No arms no chocolate'.

June 2009 : the band finds some tapes of a live session. A project of selfpublished live CDR is on/Juin 2009 : le groupe retrouve des bandes d'une session live. Un projet de CDR live autopublié est lancé.
